Busy April!
Between spring weekend at my weekend and the general, all-around end-of-the-semester for our family, this yummy springtime delight of flowering plants, shrubs and trees and planting seeds is having to vie for our time against: playing at the parks; extended pick up at preschool when the kids want to keep playing on the swings; barbecuing; and spring cleaning - oh and work!
My participation in the 30 day macro challenge has definitely petered out. I have been taking more pictures and I have learned more on the first two weeks of the challenge about macro digital photography than I had since I started using a digital camera (Sony Mavica with a floppy disk back in 2001). And, honestly, I lasted longer than I thought I would!
Still, the business in and around our home and our community has been a fun, busy. The farmers market begins next week and we ate the first round of foodstuffs out of our backgarden: asparagus and chives! Delish!

ooh asparagus. Can you tell me all about growing it. Ever since reading Animal, Vegatable, Miracle by Kingsolver, I have been facinated about growing it and only eating it when in season. I want to try it straight out of the garden sometime but I seem to remember it takes many years to get established. Jesica
